Donations and Sponsorships to support our project in Zimbabwe are now tax deductible in Australia!
The UN estimates that there are 780,000 children between 0-14 years old orphaned by AIDS in Zimbabwe. Less than 4,000 of these are cared for in registered orphanages. Many are cared for by grandmothers. Alternatively, older orphans may look after younger siblings in the family home, receiving food from neighbours for working in the fields. Less fortunate orphans move to the larger cities and towns where they support themselves through begging, prostitution and petty crime.
Mothers for Orphans raises money to support our project in Zimbabwe which aims to enable AIDS orphans to attend school and gain an education. The orphans have experienced a heartbreaking past and unless they obtain an education they face a very bleak future.
To enable us to assist a greater number of orphans and to help fill the loss in their lives, Mothers for Orphans is now seeking individuals and organisations to sponsor orphans. Just $155 will sponsor a child for a whole school year.
To arrange a sponsorship, please hit the Orphans Seeking Your Support Now! links to the left. Or should you not wish to pay online, please email Connie (see address under 'Contact') to make other arrangements.
No deductions are made from donors' and sponsors' payments for administration. As our administration is done by our members on a volunteer basis our administration costs are very modest. Unavoidable costs are met by membership fees and non-tax deductible fundraising activities such as raffles and dinners. 100% of your tax deductible gift will support our project in Chivhu, Zimbabwe.
